Vice President of Business Development, Rick Couronne, holds years of experience in the financial services arena. Rick spearheads the expansion strategy behind Privest Wealth Management group, from acquiring new top-of-line advisory talent to strategic partnerships within the industry. His broad financial and operational background, paired with private investment insight has fostered an environment of growth and opportunity for Privest. Rick ensures corporate objectives functionally align with world-class service and investor prosperity.
With over 30 years in private and public markets, Rick brings a well-decorated financial services background to the organization. He has been involved in over twenty-five initial public offerings, complimenting raising funds of well over $100 million in the start-up space. Former titles include, Sales Manager, Stock Broker, Vice President of Trading, Syndication and Compliance, Head Trader at Dean Witter Reynolds. Rick’s involvement with Privest now spans over four and a half years, beginning his career with the company in an advisory role. In addition to his professional career, Rick also actively volunteers in the non-profit fundraising environment for the Interactive Equine Program.
Saunder Van Dijk is a distinguished asset for PRIVEST Wealth Management, operating in a multifaceted role of both Chief Compliance Officer, as well as Chief Financial Officer.
As Chief of Compliance, Saunder is responsible for the development and oversight of compliance and nurturing a strong organizational culture, of which strives to achieve the highest ethical standards for investors. He believes that honesty and integrity are the foundation for a premier exempt market dealer. Saunder is experienced and committed to provide investors with a process of investment due diligence for all investment opportunities. Rigorous ongoing compliance processes are meant to protect investors and meet their unique needs and expectations with a diverse high quality alternative investment asset class. His aptitude for corporate finance has led to fostering significant ROI within a number of prior ventures in the oil and gas industry, and has refined his ability to identify and scrutinize opportunity through relentless due diligence practices.
As Chief Financial Officer, Saunder’s responsibility lies within maintaining the financial well-being of the company, ensuring both effectiveness and efficiency in compliance systems and transaction infrastructure. This requires his expertise in the ongoing enhancement and controls for this organizational framework. Constantly evolving and escalating compliance requirements coupled with the needs for effective transaction and reporting infrastructures require close planning and control of financial resources. This responsibility will in turn provide satisfaction for both the investors and dealing representatives.
Evolution into the unique niche role that Saunder now occupies at Privest, required countless years of diverse experience and educational development. Following graduation from the University of Calgary in Mechanical Engineering, he quickly obtained his Professional Engineer status with APEGA. Focused in the energy marketplace, Saunder drove initiatives for a number of large corporations including ExxonMobil, Encana, and Pengrowth, progressing from an Exploration Geophysicist to Corporate Finance and Business Development during which he obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst [CFA] designation. This propelled him into the financial services sector and his role as Vice President of Corporate Finance for Raymond James. Saunder has worked in London for several years which gave him a global viewpoint and international experience. He also has a love for languages, travel and ancient history. During his career he enjoyed sailing in the Caribbean and during his University years he was a lifeguard and swimming instructor in Calgary and a ski instructor in Banff and in the Swiss Alps.

Dean Lower holds the title of visionary President and CEO of the Privest Wealth Management group. Holding years of experience in the private investment space, Dean has established a strong network of relationships across the Canadian marketplace, and beyond. He leads an ever-growing first class team of investment advisors from coast to coast, delivering superior wealth management counseling from a selective group of only the highest quality product offerings found in the private capital markets. Dedication to relentless evaluation and due diligence policies has proven Privest to be at the forefront of private investment evaluation and client placement. Dean bridges the gap between strategic planning and operational execution.
Dean began his career on the Alberta Securities Exchange floor as trader, experiencing Black Monday in 1987. Beginning his venture into the exempt market, Dean climbed the corporate ladder at the Walton Group of Companies, creating the company’s first Marketing, Client Services, and Training Departments for the organization, then, replicating his success for the South East Asia regions of the company. Throughout this timeframe, he occupied the roles of Senior Vice President of the International Marketing and Client Services division, Global Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian and Japanese regions of the corporation.
Shifting to subsidiaries of Walton, he then began working as the President of Partners In Planning Financial Services, which throughout his term, was Canada’s largest independent financial services group. Subsequently, he joined the executive team of Interborder Holdings, an umbrella corporation focused on the strategic planning and execution for the entirety of Walton’s Group of Companies. Fostering participation in a team that rapidly grew Walton into 16 offices in 9 countries.
Dean’s history of holding executive level positions only then continued to expand, leaving Walton and becoming the President of Pennant Capital Partners, an earlier operating Exempt Market Dealer. Additionally, he is a long-standing member of the Calgary community, actively participating as a volunteer coach for multiple junior sports teams.
